The Embassy of the Somalia in Abuja, Nigeria, is permanent diplomatic mission representing the Federal Republic of Somalia. Initially, it was established in 1960, but closed with the collapse with central of Somalia in the beginning of 1991. The embassy has resumed its operation in Nigeria in the beginning of 2020 after appointing Ambassador Jamal Mohamed Barrow as the new head of mission to Nigeria.
The embassy’s reopening reaffirms the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the two sister countries, Somalia and Nigeria. Consequently, the embassy serves as key link between two governments peoples and it also provides with reliable consular services to the Somali citizens living in Nigeria and the neighboring countries, and non-Somali citizens, who intends to visit Somalia..
